Master 1: My Brushing & Flossing Journal

Dear Parent,

Your child is learning about good dental health and the things to do that will help keep his/her teeth for life! A good diet, with foods like milk, cheese, vegetables and fruit, will help teeth stay strong. One of the most important things for children to do is brush twice a day and floss. That is why he/she has this journal! Please initial your child's journal everyday.

Put a check mark in the box for every time you brushed and a star if you flossed for that day.

Reminders for healthy teeth and gums:
1. Brush everyday at least twice - after breakfast and before you go to bed.
2. Brush each tooth, inside, outside and top.
3. Brush for two minutes.
4. Use fluoride toothpaste - and only a pea-sized dab.
5. Avoid frequent sugary snacks.
6. Dentists recommend that you change toothbrushes after 3 months, or sooner if it looks worn.
